Come by Christian Women’s Job Corps (CWJC) and you may find this
scripture displayed in our offices and classrooms. For many women who
have gone through years of struggle—whether from job loss, illness, lack
of education or job skills, abuse or many other hardships—these words
may at first be hard to comprehend. But over time, with the help of caring
people who love God and love His children, women can experience an
amazing transformation. A new life, filled with God’s love and a positive
support network, will help them achieve their life and employment goals.
Classroom Study
Our program offers 14 week classes that provide a variety of subjects
that support women emotionally, spiritually, physically and
educationally. From computer skills and job preparation to bible study
and group counseling, these courses help equip women with basic life
and job skills.
Mentoring
Our mentoring program, called Sisters of the Heart, pairs each student
with a compatible mentor, who they meet with on a weekly basis.
Mentoring at CWJC is an unconditional relationship between women in
the program and women in the community. It provides a woman with
the opportunity to build a healthy relationship that fosters spiritual and
personal growth.
Personal Growth
While the face of success varies with each student, all of our CWJC
ladies make major life changes and strides toward economic
independence. When a woman finds selfconfidence and can make the
transition from poverty or public assistance to self-sufficiency, her entire
family benefits.
Key Elements of CWJC:
1. Bible Study - Each day of the CWJC semester begins with bible study and
prayer.

2. Mentoring - Each student has a mentor who walks beside them for six months to
one year.

3. Covenants - Students, volunteers and staff all commit to an equal partnership, in
a positive, caring and safe environment for all.

4. Evaluation - Continuous evaluation of the site operations allows us to celebrate
victories and make appropriate improvements.

5. Networking - We interact with many other North Texas agencies and churches to
better serve the needs of women in our area.

6. Advisory Council - The board of directors provides oversight functions and serves
as a support system and resource for CWJC staff.

7. Certification - Our site director has achieved National Certification Training for
CWJC directors. Additionally, we strive to equip our teachers and volunteers for
ministry through on-site training.

8. Needs assessments - Our program is customized to address the needs of
women living in Wichita, Archer and Clay counties. Most importantly we assess the
needs of each individual student, so that she may journey toward her unique,
personal life goals.
